Carol’s Cause for a Cure

Carol was recently diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. You may know her by her famous “Carol’s Cookies” or seeing her and Paul at an Oyster Social or at the Birthday Celebrations or..... some other function at the winery. Carol received her diagnosis on March 1st and on April 8th she will begin treatment journey at Brio-Medical Cancer Center in Arizona.

The event will entail the following, each with their own fundraising component:

·  Tickets:  $25, with 100 tickets available for purchase

·  Food:  Charcuterie from Brengman’s; Club Member Potluck with paired tastings.

·  Silent Auction:  Donations will be solicited by select club members.

·  Live Entertainment

·  Cards Against Humanity Contest:  We thought this would be fun as Carol and Paul often play the game with friends at the winery, laughing well after closing 😊

·  50/50 raffle:  An ongoing 50/50 raffle will be happening in the tasting room.  We wanted to have something that is easy for every guest at Brengman’s to participate in.  Tickets will be $10 each and the drawing will occur during the event on April 21st.

We are looking for 10-15 club members who would like to participate by donating Potluck style food for the “Potluck Pairing” during the event on April 21st.  These dishes will be paired with select wines from Brengman Brothers (Traverse Coast Blend, Runaway Hen Red, and, Carol’s fave - Smelme Blanc (the new name for Gewurztraminer) .  The winning dish will be determined by the sum of donations gathered during the “voting” by guests of each dish.  The total of the voting dollars will be donated to the family, and the winner will receive a special prize in addition to their bragging rights 😊 Ideally, the donated Potluck item will be servable in sample-sized amounts and consist of 40-50 small servings.  Members are welcome to serve their dishes, but volunteers will be available to assist in the serving during the event.

We are also looking for silent auction donations, which will be on display during the event.  No item is too big or small, so all donations are welcome!  These items may include gift cards, art, experiences, or other highly-desired items.
