About the event

Last week we had Ryan edge out Robert with his wine picks for the pairings so Ryan goes into the winners bracket while Robert needs to win in the losers bracket to get another chance at the cup. This week we are proud to announce that Erin Britton and Joe Gardner are the wine experts with the picks to pair with the amazing menu. Here’s a short bio of the experts;

Erin Britton: Erin is a native of Leelanau county and an Executive Sommelier since 2013. Her passion is Michigan and Virginia wines, focusing on sustainable, natural practices. In her spare time she treasures defeating her husband Joe in just about any type competition.   

Joe Gardner:  Joe Gardner is a NoMI transplant of 10 years, known in some circles simply as "the wine guy". He has an affinity for flavors and a love of our local Leelanau Penninsula wines. He puts up a good fight, but is perfectly comfortable losing to his wife.

Cool nights and breezy days are still lingering around here, so this second round of the "Taste of Summer Series" is designed to bid "Adieu" to the comfort foods (until fall) and welcome our peninsula's fresh flavors of Spring/Summer.

Reservations are required and seating is limited to ensure a relaxed, intimate evening of sensory indulgence.

The Taste of Summer Series #3 will be held on Wednesday July 5th with a theme of "Resting Beach Face".   The menu for this event will be published after #2.

The event is centered around three delicious food items that our Chefs will create without any coordination with the wine team. Each event will feature two wine experts choosing one wine for each food course. Two different glasses of wines will be served for each course. The attendees will score the wines on how well they pair with the dish and will be blind to the expert’s picks. The expert with the most points wins the opportunity to pick the wines in the next round in two weeks agains a new guest expert. At the end of the series, we will crown the winner of the “Best Wine Person to Pair” on the planet!

As what we offer at wine dinners, all wines served will be available by the bottle and/or case at discounted pricing.
